The Importance Of The Bill of Lading During Shipping

Congratulations on choosing Piranha to purchase a vending machine!  You should be receiving your vending machine very shortly.  A Bill of Lading will be created for your shipment to help ensure transit of your vending machine.  Here’s some important facts you need to know:

  • A Bill of Lading is a document signed by a carrier (a transporter of goods) or the carier’s representative (driver) and issued to a consignor (the shipper of goods) that evidences the receipt of goods for shipment to a specified designation and person.

All of the information below will be noted on your Bill of Lading for your reference:

  • Shipper and receivers complete names and addresses, and phone numbers.
  • Reference numbers, PO, sales order number or other numbers that a shipper may use for their own internal purposes.
  • Ship date
  • Description of the merchandise being transported complete with National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) item number and the actual class of the product.
  • Individual piece counts as well as the number of handling units such as pallets or pails.
  • The exact weight of the goods being transported and the declared value of the goods.
  • Any specialized instructions or additional services that may be required at the time of delivery such as a lift gate, call before delivery.  Accessorial charges will apply for these services.

Don’t forget to thoroughly inspect your merchandise once you receive the shipment from driver.  You will be asked to signed the Bill of Lading which will act as a legal document that you have received merchandise and accepted it’s condition.  If your merchandise has been damaged, do not accept shipment and do not sign the Bill of Lading, and contact Piranha immediately.

New Coca-Cola Bottle Disappears After You Drink It!

Coca-Cola has a way to keep a Coke chilled the entire time you drink it….then disappears without any waste after you are done!

The new Coca-Cola is available and bottled completely in ice!  They have the shape of the original glass Coke bottles…..only it’s made out of ice.  There is a red rubber band that accompanies the drink so you can hold the bottle without getting frozen fingers; and it doubles as a bracelet once you are done with the beverage and the bottle has melted away!  This is such a great summer concept! Imagine taking these Cokes with you on the beach all day and staying cool with these drinks: you will not accumulate any waste when you leave. The bottles will just melt away in the sun!

Unfortunately, these ice bottled Cokes are only currently available in Columbia.  And we’re not sure if there’s distribution and storage problems with these ice bottles.  But check out this video for this innovative marketing product from Coke!

Step By Step On Moving A Vending Machine

Moving_Vending_MachineHere are the step by step basic rules that anyone can apply when moving a vending machine!  It is best to have 2 or more people do this job to keep things simple and injury free.

  • Empty the vending machine.

Always empty the vending machine before you plan to move it.  Take out all of the snacks, drinks, and change from the machine.  You do not want them to get disorganized and potentially break and make a huge mess!  Taking the extra few minutes to do this will save you from cleaning up a broken can of spilled beverage everywhere!

  • Measure doorways and hallways

Make sure your vending machine will fit through any doors and hallways that you are planning to go through.  You may have to take off some doors to go through them.  If you do, make sure you bring the proper tools to pop those doors easily.  Doing this will make sure you do not damage any areas with your vending machine.

  • Tie up the power chords

Tie the power chords of the vending machine with regular plastic twist ties.  You do not want to accidentally run the chords over with your dolly or step on them and potentially fall.  Take the time to wind them up neatly so they are out of the way.

  • Have a furniture dolly

furniture dollyIf you have a regular dolly, you can go ahead and use it to move your vending machine.  But you will also need a moving blanket and a strap to tie the vending machine to the dolly.  Using a furniture dolly is the easiest way because it has 4 wheels and the vending machine can be placed on it without the potential of tipping in a direction that you do not want it to go.  Once you have the vending machine securely on a furniture dolly, you can literally wheel it anywhere you want it to go.

  • Wipe down machine

Make sure you wipe down your vending machine once you place it in it’s new home location.  Wipe away hand prints and any dirt or debris that may have landed on your vending machine.  Make it look new and fresh and it will be ready to serve it’s new customers.

  • Refill machine

  • You are ready for business!

How To Get Financing For Vending Machines

cash images (2)Financing programs commonly used for people who are interested in purchasing multiple vending machines.  Some of those folks are vendors who are already in the business looking to expand; or they are individuals looking to run a small route in their area to supplement existing income.  Vending is such a easy business to get into that many people look for this opportunity.

First, you will need some funds for down payment.  Whether you are financing 5 or 50 vending machines, you will need to allocate some funds for down payment.  Most financing companies will require a down payment for your loan.  It is very standard practice and the amount depends on the number of machines you are financing and also your personal credit score.  Most financing companies will not finance a loan of less than 5 vending machines.

Second, you will need to figure out how much capital is necessary.  You will have to calculate the type of machines you are looking to purchase.  Don’t forget to calculate costs for sales tax, shipping and freight charges, and product supply purchase.  Take a look at some of the varieties here and decide what types will work best for you.  You can finance both new and used vending machines.

Last, take a look at your credit score.  Order your credit reports and make sure you do not have active delinquencies on there.  No finance company will approve someone with open delinquencies!  Take care of your credit!

You can contact Piranha Vending and we will help you go through the entire process!  You can also go here and apply for financing online.  We will contact you and discuss your individual needs and help you get the funding that you need!
